Founded on July 4, 2007 by Jacinto Gomes, Gomilva was born with a clear goal: to take the quality and style of national apparel beyond borders. One year later, his wife, Alice Silva, joined the company as a managing partner, bringing with her an entrepreneurial vision and deep knowledge of the textile sector, which played a decisive role in the brand’s growth and consolidation.

Built on rigor, trust and professionalism, Gomilva has become a benchmark in the production of apparel for export, working with international brands that seek quality, reliability and an experienced production partner in Portugal. Over the years, it has collaborated with names such as Castart, Our Sister, Okimono and Buffet, turning its clients’ projects into garments produced with a high standard of quality and attention to detail.

Today, Alice’s tradition and experience continue to shape Gomilva’s path, now with the support of her son, André Gomes, who joined the business to ensure the continuity of the family legacy. Together, mother and son bridge generations, combining craftsmanship with innovation and a strong commitment to their clients.

From concept to delivery: what we do

At Gomilva, we support our clients through every stage of the clothing development and production process, from the initial idea to the final delivered product. Our service is comprehensive and tailored, designed to meet the specific needs of each project, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and attention to detail.

We start by assisting in sample creation, helping to turn ideas into tangible pieces. We produce samples with precision and quality, ensuring a solid foundation for moving forward with production. We also provide support in developing measurement charts, ensuring that each item has proportions suited to its purpose.

We manufacture specific knits according to client requirements and use automatic cutting technology for greater precision and speed. We offer a variety of customization options, such as printing, embroidery, and transfers, as well as a full garment manufacturing service carried out by experienced and skilled teams.

Development

We pay close attention to every technical detail, as these are essential to ensuring a high-quality final product. We create patterns, source knits and fabrics, and select all necessary materials according to the client’s needs, bringing their collection to life.

Samples

We recognise the essential role samples play in developing a high-quality product. For this reason, we work to ensure that the final collection samples accurately reflect the client’s expectations and original vision.

Knitting, dyeing and finishing

Creation and development of fabrics based on samples, concepts or creative references. We carry out dyeing processes on fabrics and/or finished garments, as well as a variety of final finishing techniques.

Execution and finishing

We manage all stages of production, from cutting to final garment assembly. We incorporate various personalisation techniques, such as printing and embroidery, tailored to the client’s preferences, ensuring careful, precise and high-quality finishing in every piece.

Washing, packaging and quality control

Carrying out washing and finishing processes in-house allows for closer monitoring and a high level of efficiency. Throughout production, pressing and packaging are carefully supervised, ensuring consistent quality standards.

Logistics and transport

We handle the preparation of all documentation required for the shipment and transport of goods, including packing lists, invoices and certificates of origin. The choice of freight forwarder is made according to the client’s preference.

We also offer a wide range of textile accessories, including drawstrings, snaps, eyelets, and buttons, tailored to each model. We professionally handle product packaging, respecting client specifications, and take care of the entire shipping logistics process, ensuring organized and punctual delivery, both nationally and internationally. We mainly work with jersey, fleece, piqué, and linen, but we are always open to new challenges and materials.
